Product Manager Omnichannel/Retail

Job description

For a client of Eswelt I am looking for a senior Product Manager within the omnichannel department. 

As a Senior Product Manager, you are responsible to create and drive the product vision and strategy regarding retail digital excellence solutions – this includes the retail point of sale system, inventory management system and the evolution and implementation of RFID functionalities. Below areas of responsibility:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the driver for the Digital Excellence product portfolio - (systems, processes, etc.);
  • Understand, drive and improve implementation of products as well as motivate innovation building on top of those core systems.  Truly “own” the solution landscape which addresses the needs of the instore staff as well as out customers;
  • Act as moderator between the channels and bring them together to improve collaboration;
  • Define the objectives and major problems to solve in this domain, so that the product teams have clear focus;
  • Have a holistic view of local and legacy solutions which may be used in local markets and act as the change agent to drive the teams to new processes and solutions;
  • Collaborate with and support product teams within Omnichannel who are working on direct to consumder as well as back of house inniatives - and support them by creating and communicating a holistic vision and product strategy;
  • Communicate and get stakeholder buy-in for the product strategy and outlook;
  • Build up a strong internal network to drive strategic projects;
  • Build a strong relationship with business teams to understand their needs and painpoints;
  • Build a strong collaboration with Technology department and teams in order to execute the strategy into technical feasible solutions;
  • Define a product structure together with your Tech counterpart which will support existing applications, clean up technical debt and strive for continues improvements;

The ideal candidate:

  • University degree with 5-10 years of related work experience in a similar role;
  • Proven track-record of working with multidisciplinary Product teams (consisting of Developers, Tech lead, QA, business analists);
  • In depth understanding of backend retail systems (RFID / POS Systems and more) as well as the online/offline/omnichannel processes in creating value for both our staff and our end consumer;
  • Experience of implementing solutions within a similar environment;
  • Profound knowledge and experience of working in both agile and waterfall methodologies, ideally previous experience as a product owner for the following applications;
    • GK POS
    • RFID
  • Integrations into mainly SAP backend solutions;
  • Reporting and Analytics background;
  • Experience in cloud native solutions for omnichannel (ideally AWS);
  • Can-do mentality;
  • Excellent communication skills of written and spoken English;
